Goals:   After riding many breeds, over many years, I found it more rewarding to ride and progress with a horse that has the right mix of good conformation, good gaits and good temperament.  That has, and always will be, my goal to breed.  I chose to breed the Hanoverian horse because of the many years of research and perfecting of the breed in Europe.  I also feel that the stringent guidelines set by our breed association will help keep the quality of the breed high.  With careful selection of both mare and stallion, and a little luck, the results should end up being a talented, ridable horse for both amateur and professional alike.  Please visit my pages and brows the images below to see what you think.

Mares at The Heritage

Waffen

1984 mare (Watzmann/ Darling), imported from Germany.  This mare was the start of things to come.  She was a larger, older style horse that possessed a wonderful nature and a real willingness to work.  She was extremely comfortable to sit and had 3 very nice gaits.  She produced 2 foals for me and was sold in foal. Her first foal was a filly – Pied Piper, whom I still own and breed.

Pied Piper

1995 mare (Pik Immer x Waffen/Watzmann).  With my first attempt at breeding Hanoverians, I was more than a little delighted when this mare surprised me and took high score Hanoverian mare at her 3-year inspections and scored high enough to be elite eligible. She subsequently went on to pass her mare performance test with highest score for jumping ability, and is now an elite mare.  She has followed in her mother’s footsteps in that her gaits, trainability, and ridability are all top quality.  She has produced a filly by Contucci, a colt by Widmark, a colt by Don Principe, and a colt by Contendro I.

Carinosa

2001 mare (Contucci x EM Pied Piper/Pik Immer).  Following in the quality of this dam line, Cara scored a 7.33 at her mare inspection and is elite eligible.  She also displays the very high ridability I have come to expect from this mare line.  Cara is currently under saddle as my riding horse and will be presented for her mare performance testing in the future.
